Magpie's Old Clothes

50s Plaid Tweed Coat with Fluffy Collar
Item Number: FUR200444
Cost: $100.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: 38
  • Shoulder: 15/16
  • Sleeve: 21
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 45
  • Tag: Engel-Fetzer Cleveland Anglo Fabrics
Condition: Boo-hoo! This absolutly gorgous coat does not fit me! I love it so! Made of a dark blue-green with rust and goldenrod plaid tweed fabric with a super fluffy racoon collar. Lined in satin and a cotton batting like material. Has slash pockets and a hook-eye closure on the front of the coat. There is super light wear overall on the coat -- nothing out of the ordinary for vintage. I did not find any moth holes in the tweed. The fur collar does not appear to be shedding. This has to be one of the prettiest plaid tweed coats I have ever had in my collection!!!

60s Mottled Moutton Jacket
Item Number: FUR200619
Cost: $85.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: 40/42
  • Shoulder: 17
  • Sleeve: 24
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 31
  • Tag: Bielskie Zakt Furzarskie
Condition: Oh-la-la! You better grab this coat asap! Made of sheered moutton in a mottled brown color the jacket has real leather trim, front buttons, pockets and is lined in satin. I think this is from Poland. It is tagged a euro 54 (but I am wearing it right now and it feels like a US modern size 12). No imperfections on the fur or leather -- very light wear on the inside lining of the coat. This baby is so warm and pretty! Quick buy it now before I change my mind and decide to keep it!!!

40s Navy Blue Fur Jacket (as-is)
Item Number: FUR44222
Cost: $50.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: 42
  • Shoulder: 18
  • Sleeve: 21
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 22
  • Tag: Handov Furs Syracuse NY Est. 1871
Condition:  I have no idea what type of fur this coat is made of -- can't think of any navy blue animals out there. Lined in navy blue rayon crepe. Overall in very good condition -- being sold "as-is" because there are two small (less than a dime sized) fur-bare spots on the right hand sleeve cuff and there is light wear on the inside neckline. Ask for photos and I will provide details (or you can take my word for it that the faults are not a big issue, but I did take them into consideration when establishing a price). Buying vintage fur reduces the need for new furs to be produced! ;-)

60s Pure White Rabbit Fur Jacket
Item Number: COAT85504
Cost: $85.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: 36
  • Shoulder: 17
  • Sleeve: 22
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 27
  • Tag: Jacques Saint Laurent for City Furs Paris New York
Condition: Oh-la-la this fur coat is divine -- made of pure white rabbit fur lined in a white heavy satin. Has hooks and eyes up the front. So soft and cuddly! There is a super tiny hole under the left hand armpit -- otherwise the fur is solid. The jacket has a slight bell on the sleeves and the front of the coat has two slash pockets. Remember...buying vintage fur reduces the need for new furs to be produced! ;-)

50s Blonde Mink Capelet Stole
Item Number: FUR81445
Cost: $175.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: free
  • Shoulder: 20
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 22
  • Tag: none
Condition: I adore this caplet/wrap -- I am positive this came to me from the lady next door when I lived in the Valley. Made of a lucious mink -- so soft I just want to cuddle with this thing! Lined in a beige satin with a Decco like design woven into the fabric. The stole does have light wear around the collar area -- fuzzing on fabric a wee bit of a ring etc -- but nothing out of the ordinary for vintage and nothing which someone else would notice while you were wearing the fur. The shoulders are sort of gathered and the fur pieces in front are 30 inches long -- so you will be enveloped in this when you wear it! Buying vintage fur reduces the need for new furs to be produced! ;-)

50s Chocolate Brown Mink Capelet
Item Number: FUR81424
Cost: $125.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: free
  • Shoulder: 18
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 15
  • Tag: Edwards Syracuse Rochester Buffalo
Condition: I adore this caplet/wrap -- I can't remember if this one belonged to my grandmother or not -- it could have come from the neighbor across the street. Made of a deep chocolate brown mink, it has small slash pockets in the front and is lined in a deep brown satin with a leafy brocade design. There is light wear on the fold of the pockets and about 1 inch of fur bareness on the right hand side in line with the armpit directly on the fold of the stole. Not too noticable when wearing the piece (and thus the reduction in the listed price). Buying vintage fur reduces the need for new furs to be produced! ;-)

50s White Rabbit Fur Stole
Item Number: FUR81025
Cost: $40.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: Up to 40/42
  • Shoulder: 18
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 14
  • Tag: None
Condition: What a stunning accessory! Made of pure white rabbit fur, lined in a white printed satin, has a hook and eye closure with a fluffy pom-pom on the front. The fur itself is in very good condition -- the lining does have a rust stain on the left hand shoulder (egads when will people listen to Mommy Dearest -- NO WIRE HANGERS!) Needless to say this fault is not something you will see when wearing the item. Otherwise is solid condition -- ready to wear on the town!

60s Black Faux Fur and Mink Collar Jacket

Measures:
  • Bust: Up to 40
  • Shoulder: 17
  • Sleeve: 19
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 22

Condition: What a unique coat -- I bought it for myself, but it just didn't fit right. Made of a faux shaved sheerling, and has a real mink fur collar. Lined in black acetate and has snaps at the neck, and the front of the coat is open. Super soft -- both the real and faux fur. No wear on the inside or out of this jacket, it really does not appear to have ever been worn. This will make a great gift!

50s Blonde Mink Cropped Capelet Jacket
Item Number: FUR81207
Cost: $old to a good home 265.00 (New Item!)
Measures:
  • Bust: Up to 38/40
  • Shoulder: 18
  • Back of Neck to Hem: 18
  • Tag: Furs by Ceresnie Bros & Offer Birmingham Detroit
Condition: What a stunning accessory! Made of thick furry mink in a blonde color lined in mauve brocade satin with a furry button and snap closure on the front. Embroidered name inside is "Jackie W" (anyone anyone -- famous Motown singer maybe???). Previous owner made one modification to the sleeve like detail -- you can tell that at one time the "sleeves" -- which are no more than a thick strip of fur -- was attached ot the inside of the coat with most likely satin straps -- these straps have been removed and no it doesnot affect the appearance of the capelet. This fur probably cost well over 600.00 in its day (because Birmingham MI is just about as posh as Beverly Hills). The fur is solid on the seams and is hole and spot free. I'd say by far this is my best fur piece in the collection.
